i live with these animals!

I told the kids we would make a goodnight video for daddy and this is what they came up with! These wild animals do this kind of stuff ALL DAY LONG!

When my in laws had the kids last weekend they took them to see the beautiful flowers in Carlsbad. These pictures are

Vegas

This is where my husband lives Mon-Fri. In this tiny little hotel room. Kinda sad huh?

He is there for work, the company he works for is based out of San Diego, but all the work is here right now. This is a new section of hotels, malls, and condo's on the las vegas strip called CENTER CITY. It is the largest construction project in the worlds right now. It is so crappy to have him gone during the week, but it is a great job to have on his resume. He is there with all his co workers/friends from CA so they hang out at night and do man activities like bowling/golf etc.

These pictures dont even do this place justice. The size of this project is truly remarkable. Huge! He drives to work from behind the strip in a golf cart, and has to drive it around the job all day because the place is so freakin big!

There are 5,6,7 sometimes more cranes here at any given time.

Can you see those tall skinny things attached to the exterior of the two side buildings? Those are the man lifts. (think temporary elevators??) can you say SCARY?? Oh and here something even freakier. Apparently 22 guys have died at this job so far? That sounds like a lot, which it is, but there are around 10,000 people working on this job at times.

The buildings in the front that face the strip have some really cool architecture. It will be neat to walk through when its all done. I was not aloud to go in yet, they are very strict about who is aloud on the job right now. Everyone has to be drug tested, badged, and all this crazy security stuff because of the deaths that have occurred. Apparently guys were getting drunk on their lunch breaks and then going back to work and getting in to accidents, so they Breathalyze at random to get back on the job after lunch! CRAZY huh?

This is the "ghetto" breakfast dave took me to at this Wild Wild West place right by his company office. It is open 24 hours so sometimes he and his co workers go there to eat breakfast because they go in to work as early as 4 am. The place was freaky looking on the outside, and at night it is known for housing "women of the night" because it is located right across from a truck stop. Awesome! Oh another interesting fact- directly across from his office is a place called BATTA BING, a"gentleman's club". Awesome #2! Back to breakfast. They go there because it is close and cheap. Cheap as in they must loose money cheap. we ate"the gamblers breakfast" $1.49.

$1.49? That is not a typo. Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and toast for $1.49. That seriously was Awesome with out sarcasm. Who cares if there are hookers when your total meal for 2 people is less than five bucks? the best part is the conversations i overheard in the place. That's a different post in itself. Vegas is a scary place.

Next item of business... The random girl on the right of the picture above is walking around with that plastic guitar strapped around her neck and there is an alcoholic beverage in it, which she sips as she walks down the street through a 2 foot long straw? Awesome? And if your not a rock star at heart you can have your choice of other ridiculous looking drink holding contraptions like a cowboy boot, 3 foot long plastic tube, cactus, Eiffel tower and many others.

So that pretty much sums up Vegas. We also did some fun stuff. We went to some shows, ate some good food and had fun just being together.

Dear Dad,

This morning started off with being dragged to do some work with mom... we were so good in the car driving all over town so we were rewarded with what any mother of the year feeds their kids at 9 am? a shamrock shake! breakfast of champions...

This is the fit I threw when mommy took it away because I sucked it dry and took the lid off and was shaking the cup upside down in an attempt to get every last drop in my mouth.

Then mommy needed a break from us and had to do some work so we watched woody and buzz.. but that didn't last very long. We had to get our mess making quota for the day filled so we went in to the family room to see what we could tear apart...

This was our attempt to make a fort.

Then I decided I was too white and tried to get a fake tan going and used PERMANENT red marker to color all over my body.(Im now banned from marker using until Im 10)

After mom got us out of the tub she rewarded all our stellar behavior with some blue toes...

And then put Kardiff in baby jail.

Dad,

Please come home and bail us out. (bail mommy out really)

She's tired and misses you.

Cant wait to see you at the airport tomorrow.

So kaia was playing "babysitter" and wanted to help get kardiff out of the bath this evening and while she was helping him he fell on the floor. opps. she's fired. anyways little man split open his chin and i thought we might have our first go at stitches.you can barley tell from this pic, but it was kinda hard getting him to stay still.(dave wanted me to post a pic so he could see) I called our neighbor who is a retired fireman to come take a look and he said a band aid would be good. So a band aid it is! After all we were already at the dr's today. This little guy is giving me a run for my money.... Last week he was diagnosed with a pneumonia and we took him in for a recheck of his lungs today, which were good, but the dr noticed a rash on him that i just thought was red skin from being feverish. She said he has fifth's disease? I have never heard of it before but she said it is like Hand,foot mouth? Just a viral thing that will go away. Weird? But it is always something right? Iv practically lived at that dang dr's office this winter!!! These kids....

Today my mom came over and we planted some ranunculus. Kai had a good time watering them. Hopefully we can keep them alive, time will tell I guess.

new quilt need help?

Eve? Ash? any quilter out there? should i keep the blocks arranged in this pattern of mix them all up and just have them in random order? which looks better? please leave suggestions!!

So I got a new calling at church recently. I was called to be in charge of a monthly craft night at my house. Sounds easy enough right? So we were supposed to have the first one last night. I got a little project together and though maybe a few people would at least show up to hang out. W-R-O-N-G!!!! Not a single soul! Sweet first craft night not so successful.... Brings me back to my first calling in the church as a freshman in provo... Something similar was planned and the only people that showed up was the RS presidency and my roommates! Maybe somethings wrong with me or I smell bad and just dont know it, but whatever? I got a lot done. I cut all these blocks and arranged them in this pattern, and I had fun even if it was just Autumn and I.

Dave has requested that I post pics daily on the blog so he can see his family. Not very exciting for everyone else, but I will be trying to post some new pics every day or two for him.

Last week My friend Autumn and I went camping for a night at San Elijo with some girls. We stayed in Our friend Lori's RV, played games, ate yummy food, and got some fun waves. Thanks again Lori for being such a great hostess!!

the economy got you down? geesh every time i turn on the tv or read something its all so negative right now! yes our economy does suck, but im trying to focus on the positive because hey. why not? (and yes we have been effected by it just like everyone else) oh and iv also come to terms with being a bad blogger, but i just feel really blessed right now. iv had a rough week alone with the kids, Dave is working in vegas now and im getting a taste of being a single mom. fun. real fun. anyways its not so bad, my kids cuteness level definitely makes up for how hard it is.

to have such sweet funny children. kai is some how learning about "mewwag" and is always holding kardiff like this and wanting to dance and saying, "look mom were mewwied"

to spend my days with this handsome boy, even if it's just cleaning up his messes all day...

to live here. and get to see this kind of beauty almost daily.(the pic doesn't even do it justice)
