Eve? Ash? any quilter out there? should i keep the blocks arranged in this pattern of mix them all up and just have them in random order? which looks better? please leave suggestions!!
So I got a new calling at church recently. I was called to be in charge of a monthly craft night at my house. Sounds easy enough right? So we were supposed to have the first one last night. I got a little project together and though maybe a few people would at least show up to hang out. W-R-O-N-G!!!! Not a single soul! Sweet first craft night not so successful.... Brings me back to my first calling in the church as a freshman in provo... Something similar was planned and the only people that showed up was the RS presidency and my roommates! Maybe somethings wrong with me or I smell bad and just dont know it, but whatever? I got a lot done. I cut all these blocks and arranged them in this pattern, and I had fun even if it was just Autumn and I.

Hm... I have to think this over and get back to you with some pictures. The prints are super cute!
That's right girl, we don't need anyone else, we have tons of fun on our own! I love the magnets, just gave 4 away to my friend T! She loves them, totally cute!
Thanks for having the best craft night ever, hee! hee!
I really like the pattern you have laid out. So pretty. Did u cut all those squares yourself?
I was totally planning on coming to craft night last night and bought my new rotary blade on Monday. Then I got sick yesterday and have come home early from work 2 days in a row :(
I was going to get a bunch of cutting down at your place. Anywho I def want to come over fir your monthly craft night. It will get some momentum for next time. I'll spread the word to the primary folks next time just give me a heads up. See ya little quilt buddy!!
Okay, I found one. I sort of prefer the randomly pieced quilts, I think you pay more attention to the fabric, and it looks like you have a ton of Amy Butler in there, so cute. Here's a picture so you can imagine it:
Random Coin Quilt
I think that a few random white squares would also break it up and look cute.
Obviously, feel free to ignore my opinion. You're the one doing the work! :)
I love the fabrics you used! I am not a quilter at all, but why don't you try a couple different or random patterns. Take pictures of each one and then have people tell you which they think looks best. It is probably a lot of work though!
Oh man Lauren, that really is cute! I think it would look good both ways...for us type A personalities, it's sometimes hard to get creative and do the random pattern. :)
Don't give up. I think "Craft Night" and "Sewing Night" bring pictures of old geezy women sitting around polyester fabric on quilt frames. Word will spread about this rad new girl in the ward who is has this amazing eye for cool fabric (I'm talking about you, girl) and can make the sweetest quilts and how freakin' funny she is to hang out with. They'll be flocking to craft night soon enough! The OC betta recognize what they have or we'll have to steal you back! ;)
Oh, and I think I agree with Eve on the randomness. It does draw your attention to the fabric. Either way I'm so excited to see it when it's completed!
Psh...no one showed up, LAME! Well you can tell those orange county ladies that I have just invited them to suck it.
Cute fabric squares, that is going to be an awesome quilt.
I love the quilt how you have it. It looks so cool. Can't wait to see the finished product.
