Great Grandma and Grandpa Hansen

My mom and her mom. She is where we get out good looks. Thanks grandma. I love how she is giving me her "what up" wave in this picture. Her and my grandpa are pure comedy. I'm telling you they are seriously two of the funniest people I have ever met. My grandma is always saying the funniest one liners, most of the time due to her short level of patience (must be where I got it from) and my grandpa is pretty much a comedian. He is hilarious and could entertain a crowd for hours (Jill-can we say mom's 50Th b day speech). I seriously have to make sure I'm not eating/drinking while he is talking because I have made soda come out of my nose before because he makes me laugh so hard. My sister and I beg to hang out with them but they just have these really big social lives always traveling the world and hanging out at the elks club and stuff? They are pretty much living mine and Dave's retirement dream. They travel all around in their sweet moterhome and see the world. They go to Europe at least once a year. And they are pure Awesome. I hope to be a tenth as Awesome as them when I am their age.

Kai and here great grandma Jan.

Kardiff and my mom.
My kids watching a performer at the street fair. If you have never been to the Tuesday night street fair on main street in HB your missing out. We try to go as much as possible. the kids love to watch the performers, the live music, and I love to stock up on our weeks fresh, locally grown organic produce.

This guy totally had my kids and grandpa entertained. Grandma however.... She kept saying things like, "Lets get this show on the road" and "Just Do It Already!!" I was pretty much peeing my pants. I have seen the guy do his act numerous times, but nothing compares to the pure entertainment of grandma/grandpa.

Here is grandpa Ben modeling my sisters engagement ring-on his pinkie finger. And there is history to this joke. Him and one of his friends pretend they are Gay when say your out to dinner and he is ordering to the waitress.... I guess you have to be there it is hard to explain. But at any given time he will switch to "Sven" who is this gay alter ego. And as a side note- the ring got stuck on his finger and he had to pry it off....
He is famous for doing this crazy cheek blowing noise making thing.. I don't know what it's called but he has already taught Kody how to do it, and is now working with Kardiff.

So Grandma and Grandpa were here staying in their moterhome at the beach for a week and we snatched up some of their time and went to the street fair and dinner. I cant wait until they move back here from Solvang so we can spend more time with them..(Hint Hint Grandma....)

Halloween

We took the kids to the pumpkin patch the night before. Picked up daddy at the airport and went straight there. The kids had been waiting patiently all week for him to arrive so they could go.

They loved this little whale ride so much, I think they would have been fine not seeing any pumpkins and just riding this thing all night.

Nama Dana made this cool treat for the kids.

Cupcakes we made for the party.

Look at those beautiful eyes.

The funny Moffat fam dressed up like cholo's.

The Quigley kids Carmen and Moseley- so stinkin cute.

Pretty trick or treaters.

The chubby garden gnome just wanted to eat his candy all night.

Cute baby giraffe.
The gnome beard became popular anong the adult crowd and everyone was trying it on. Kardiff definatlety pulled it off the best though...

Black family Halloween 2009

My father in law likes to play jokes on the trick or treaters by lowering this spider down when they come to our door.

Cute shark Moseley

The future husband and wife were worn out and got a lift from their Daddy's.

And dad trued out the beard.

They were so tired by the end of the night they just sat down in some random persons yard for a candy break, so we headed home... It was a great Halloween.

Church's n Pedro's

Future husband and wife...
See she is already chasing him...

And just for the record. All 3 girls are potty trained but their mothers forgot clothing so we just went with what we had.. Hence having to eat dinner here... Well lets be real, would we really take these monkeys somewhere civilized?
Kardiff doing his "scary bear face"
I. Love. Him.
And. Her.
They love each other I promise.

Just a typical Saturday.. but for some reason these pictures make me so happy. I need to soak up these good times with the Moffat family before they leave us again for that island in the sea. The whole reason I started this blogging business was to keep up with Ashley and her kiddos because we have always lived so far from each other. So this year has been really fun to have them close and have days like this where we could just hang and let our kids play together on the beach. That's me living out my dreams....

Summer recap.. its a long one..

Sometimes baby thinks he can be big and wears underwear. He is attempting to potty train himself. I'm not ready yet, but if he wants to wear underwear I'm not going to stop him.
When I look at this picture I think.. How did I get so lucky? 3 Awesome, Healthy, Beautiful, Crazy kids... I love them.
For Kardiff' and Kody's birthdays we went to the Rain forest Cafe. Good entertainment for the kids, nasty food.
Uncle James and Uncle Parker are "tough guys" and rarely smile for the camera. I promise they had fun!
Mama and her birthday boy.
On Kody's Birthday morning we had a donut party..
And then the boys got to open their presents. Kody got a wii. Kardiff a new bike.
We had a beach bbq party for the boys the weekend of their birthdays also.
I love her bunnies.
Costco skateboard cake. Ugly on the outside. Yummy on the inside.
Kaia and her pals.
The birthday boys eating their cake.
Sometimes when mommy tries to sneak away and take a shower we paint each others bodies...
We went to visit daddy in Vegas at his new condo. The kids were upgraded from sleeping in the bathroom to the closet.. Next month we get the place to ourselves so they will have this whole room and we will get the master.
When we went to visit Daddy this time, we went to the Mandalay Bay Shark Aquarium.
Love them.
This is our other home for now. Not bad, but not the beach....
The kids in their cabana.
At the local mall in Vegas they have this cool outdoor park and splash pad area we take the kids.

We made a trip to Utah for a week and stayed with Janae, Carli, and Kelly. This day we went out on the Amos boat.
And there were cows at the lake?
Kaia and Amme.. pretty cute.
Kardiff trying to make out with one of his ladies...
Awesome.
When we stayed with Carli we went to the Children's Gardens at Thanksgiving Point and they had all kinds of fun things for the kids to do.
Splash area.
Underground area with tunnels.

A trippy maze that even I got lost in...
This trip to visit Daddy we went and hung with our friends that were staying at the Excalibur or the "castle" as my kids call it. Good pool for the kids there.
I had a Birthday party at my house for a friend and during the party we were toilet papered (again) by my friends husband and kids.. pretty funny.
The girls I surf with.
Happy 40th B day Molly.
My latest obsession. Quilting. The reason I don't blog. If I have free time I'm on the sewing machine.
Kaia's first day of school. She is getting so big?
End of summer tan lines. Not bad?
They both can swim now.
Kaia's second day of school.
And today it finally cooled down enough to put pants on Kardiff. Summer's over... It was a good one.

Daddy

We love you. Your the best daddy.
Hope you have fun learning to kite surf.

Fathers Day

My dad and kardiff doing what they love to do.
Kaia and my parents new puppy river.
We also celebrated my little brother James birthday that was on June 20th.
And of coarse no one can have a birthday with out Kaia having a birthday candle to blow out.
I cant get over how handsome my son is. Once again.. Im obsessed with this kid.
My sister and her boyfriend, almost husband.
Kardiff and his twin.. This is little Nick. He is my Aunt and Uncle's son. Kardiff and him are like 3 months apart and they are about the same size and doing the same things so they have so much fun together.. Oh and they both are like off the charts HUGE in case you didn't notice. They are not even 2 yet!

Love this face.
I think Kardiff looks so much like my little brother Parker. Does anyone see the family resemblance here?

For Fathers day we spent the after noon at my parents house with some family. We sure are lucky to have such a great dad/grandpa.

Kardiff's Lesson 6/16

I Know it's a lot of pictures.. but I just love my new camera so much! It really does make me want to document their little lives more now that it is was easier... Kardiff did AWESOME today! He only wined for the first minute or so and the rest of the time he was having so much fun and doing so well! He really does love the water and now that he is comfortable with the teacher he is loving swimming lessons!

Kaia's lesson 6/16

back to blogging

Iv had no desire to blog lately because I really was mad at my camera. Well I finally broke down and treated myself to a nice new camera so I should have no excuse now. The kids started swimming lessons this week with teacher Debbie. Day one Kardiff cried "mama.. mama.." the entire lesson but did really good and was comfortable in the water. Kaia did not cry but is not exactly swimming yet. I will post the end results at the end of the week.
